Application search: which system, and why

The obsession, one click deeper
Founder-ratified: make systems legible to agents. Ray's cut, which he accepted with a refinement: it splits into two kinds.

Founder: Kind A = "automating myself out of it." Kind B = "producing an end goal: more food moved, more lettuce grown, more autonomous experiments run."
The tell: he rejects agent-as-reporter ("reporting it to others on an iPad screen"). He wants agent-as-operator. Same shape as TagaPet: the dog physically comes home.
Current state (his words)
"I've found my method. I'm practicing my craft. I haven't found the application I want to go hard on myself." Consulting = broad-exposure search while looking. "Still plenty I could start sharing more publicly about the journey."
Why this matters against the four walls
[[user-career-commitment-shape]]: Kind A never passes (no feelable sentence, no stake). Kind B can pass all four: sentence = the yield; whole lane = the loop; teach = the journey in public; stake = own the yield or a piece of it.
Candidate sentence shape: "more ___ [moved / grown / discovered] because the agent decided, not a person." The blank is the search.

Observation, not conclusion: three of four Kind B examples are food (kitchen production, retail sell-through, farming). Exposure or signal; watch.
Failure mode to guard
Search without a stopping rule = "lifelong learner" as hiding place (his own diagnosis, 2026-07-24). Keep the search bounded (this list, scored) and public (the Sanity Check re-cut: method as through-line, applications as episodes).
Founder additions (07:04 ET)
- Autonomy ladder: report → actuate → repair. Agents start narrow ("time to water the lettuce") and grow complementary parts (actuators, then "tell the person the pipe burst," eventually robot repair). Ray's iPad objection revised: rung one is fine if rung two is on the roadmap. KPS spec should carry the explicit next-rung.
- Candidate sentence, his words: "I'm feeding people, responsibly without waste." First no-question-mark sentence since TagaPet. Not ratified as the mission.
- Practice development through the four walls, self-scored: whole lane yes · teach yes (train others beyond him + Paulo) · sentence weak · stake zero ("absorbed into the enterprise without much thanks"). Same result CAF got.
- Services firm rejected as vehicle: "too much of a pyramid model relying on scaling human labor." Implication: the food vehicle is an operation or product where agents replace the labor pyramid.
- Bounding accepted in principle ("otherwise I run the risk of just going with the flow").

Window closes 2026-12-31. Criteria: physical yield · loop closable in months · someone already pays for the yield · ownable stake · sentence with no question mark. Live test case = KPS. Public output = one Sanity Check piece/month, method as through-line, applications as episodes, client detail out. Dec 31: name a target or consciously extend.
Sixth criterion (founder contrast set, 07:16 ET)
The sentence must sound like the future arriving: tangible + not landfill + sci-fi made ordinary. His contrasts: screws (fail) · "connecting the world two planks at a time" / LEGO blocks for shelter (pass) · happy-meal toys (landfill, fail) · SpaceX / Tesla / Neuralink / Boring (pass). "Feeding people" = illustrative, not a commitment: passes tangible, flat on sci-fi. His question: "What sci-fi capabilities can I help bring to today?"
Ray calibration: every Elon sentence is anchored by one loop that visibly closes at small scale (booster lands, one patient moves a cursor). Sentence civilizational, proof = a single closed loop. So the search question at his scale = which loop, in which physical system, can he make close itself first.
Candidates re-scored: KPS = lab not target (zero sci-fi) · vertical farming passes if framed "food grown anywhere, no farmland, no weather, no waste" · self-driving science (model-hardware-standard direction) passes hardest.
Homework offered (no deadline): 3-5 sentences of the shape "X that runs itself," each with its first proving loop.
