Your Complete Product Creation Checklist
Here is a complete product creation checklist you can (and should!) use every time you’re thinking about building & selling a new low-ticket digital product.
Step 1: Start with your industry, then pick a niche, then niche-down again and pick a “person.”
-
Mega-Category → Ex: “Wellness”
-
Niche → Ex: “Sleep Wellness”
-
Niche-Within-Niche → “Sleep Wellness For Startup Founders”
You can niche down in the following ways:
-
By Industry: Take the mega-category and pick a sub-category within it. For example: “Healthcare” → “Physical Therapy.”
-
By Demographic: Take the mega-category, pick a sub-category, and then pick a specific demographic. For example: “Healthcare” → “Physical Therapy” → “Physical Therapy For Remote Workers”
-
By Physical Location: Take the mega-category, pick a sub-category, and then pick a specific physical location or geography. For example: “Healthcare” → “Physical Therapy” → “Physical Therapists In Chicago.”
-
By Digital Platform: Take the mega-category, pick a sub-category, and then pick a specific digital location or platform. For example: “Healthcare” → “Physical Therapy” → “Physical Therapists On LinkedIn.”
-
By Price: Take the mega-category, pick a sub-category, and then pick a price range or socioeconomic status. For example: “Healthcare” → “Physical Therapy” → “Physical Therapy For Single Mothers On Food Stamps.”
-
By Distribution: Take the mega-category, pick a sub-category, and then pick a specific form of delivery. For example: “Healthcare” → “Physical Therapy” → “Physical Therapy On Zoom.”
Step 2: 10 Biggest Problems
Once you have your “niche-within-niche” chosen, make a list of the 10 Biggest Problems that exist for that specific person in that specific niche.
*NOTE:
-
These should be painful problems
-
These should be urgent problems
-
And these should be valuable (aka: “expensive”) problems—either costing the person a lot of TIME/MONEY (upside or downside)
Step 3: 10 Most Desirable Outcomes
Next, what does this specific person in this specific niche care about the most?
What outcomes do they value—and why?
Make a list of their 10 Most Desirable Outcomes.
*NOTE:
-
Take your list of 10 Biggest Problems
-
Next to each one, write the Outcome that happens if that problem gets solved
-
Then stack-rank your list of Problems & Outcomes to find the most painful problems & most valuable outcomes
Then pick the best one.
Step 4: Stress-Test Your Low-Ticket Product Idea
Once you’ve picked a Problem & Outcome, stress-test it using this simple checklist:
-
✅ Is a problem you’ve successfully solved for yourself?
-
✅ Is a problem you genuinely care about solving (it should bother you this problem exists in the world!).
-
✅ Is a problem that can be OBJECTIVELY measured (meaning you can “prove” that you’ve solved it).
-
✅ Is a problem that requires more than just “an answer” in order to solve (meaning some kind of implementation).
-
✅ But most importantly, is a problem that is in some way correlated to either MAKING MONEY, NOT LOSING MONEY, SAVING A TON OF TIME, or UNLOCKING STATUS.
This Problem & Outcome, for this Specific Person, is going to be the central focus (and positioning) of your Low-Ticket Digital Product.
Step 5: Complete Your Offer Creation Checklist
To gain full clarity over what sort of product you’re going to build, for who, and why, fill out this checklist.
This will also save you a ton of time later when you begin creating marketing materials.

-
✅ Solved In A Specific Way
-
✅ Achieving An Objective Outcome

-
✅ Or Price-Anchored to Downside 5x-10x What You’re Charging
-

Step 6: Outline Your Digital Product Curriculum
Follow these steps to create a detailed outline in the form of a bulleted list:
-
✅ Start With The End (Objective) Goal
-
✅ Make A Bulleted List Of Action Steps That Achieve That Goal
-
✅ Name Each Module Something Tangible
-
✅ Pair Each Module With A Tangible Asset/Template
-
✅ List 3-7 Main Points/Sub-Steps Inside Each Module (That Achieve That Larger Action Step, Which All Ladder Up To Achieving The End Goal)
Step 7: Create The Perfect Course Module
For each module of your digital product’s curriculum outline, ask yourself how you can make it as comprehensive as possible by using most (or all) of the following sections:
-
✅ Reasons Why (Benefits)
-
✅ Mistakes To Avoid (Problems)
-
✅ Steps How To (Action Steps)
-
✅ Commonly Asked Questions (Objections)
-
✅ Walkthrough Example (Proof)
-
✅ *Bonus Asset (Template)
-
✅ Assignment (Homework)
Step 8: Design, Record, Launch!
All that’s left is to:
-
Get your digital product designed
-
Record video (or audio) with each module
-
And put it up for sale!
