Frontier Round 7 — Part K (A-half synthesis)

2026-07-24

Round 7 — Part File Summary, Half A

HEADLINES

  1. Thomas Hull CONFIRMED as Joseph Hull's father; Joanna (Peson) Hull upgraded to PROBABLE as mother. The 1596 Crewkerne parish baptism register ("Joseph, son of Thomas Hull") establishes the father at CONFIRMED. The 1572/3 Crewkerne marriage register — verbatim: "Thomas Hull the sonne of Alice Hull widdow married with Johane Peson the daughter of Richard Pesinge and Margery his wife" — combined with three independent secondary genealogical sources (Weygant 1913, Coddington 1989, Hughes/Hull Family Association) upgrades the mother from POSSIBLE to PROBABLE. New AHN assignments: Thomas Hull the Younger = 22604; Joanna (Peson) Hull = 22605.

  2. Rev. James Morgan Sr. (AHN 414) and Mary 'Molly' Davis Morgan (AHN 415) established at PROBABLE as parents of Susannah Morgan (AHN 207). R2 independently accessed all eight FaG memorials in the cluster; DAR Ancestor #A132519 (oath of allegiance, Randolph County NC 1779, citing The North Carolinian Vol. 2 June 1956 pp. 179-180) remains the only truly non-FaG corroboration. Five internal cluster inconsistencies documented — including a sibling count conflict (7 vs. 12), two conflicting death years for the father (1804 vs. ~1810), and an impossible NC birthdate for sibling Nancy Wright — but no contradicting candidate or competing parentage claim was found.

  3. William Olney III / Catharine Sayles marriage date corrected to December 28, 1692. Verbatim primary source — Early Records of the Town of Providence, Vol. V, p. 255 (archive.org: earlyrecordsofto05prov) — reads "December the 28th in the yeare one Thousand six hundred ninty & two." Arnold's Vital Records "December 20" is a transcription error (8 misread as 0). The 1889 Olney genealogy independently confirms December 28.

  4. Alexander Kent (AHN 132) as father of William Alexander Kent (AHN 66) confirmed at PROBABLE. WikiTree independently places Alexander Kent (25 Jun 1755 Cumberland County VA - 7 Apr 1841 Halifax County VA) with no alternative candidate found. Geni corroborates from both directions: Alexander's profile lists William among his children; William's profile lists Alexander as father. No primary document (will, deed, tax list) directly accessed; PROBABLE cannot be upgraded without Halifax County probate or tax record.

  5. Robert Goodspeed of Wingrave (AHN 11296) as Roger's father remains POSSIBLE with a new unresolved complication. The 1907 Goodspeed genealogy explicitly states Roger's English origins are unknown after 18 years of research — the research brief's claim that this book supports the Robert-Roger link is incorrect. A newly located 1649 Chancery case (TNA C 5/405/103, Jennings v Goodspeed) names Robert Goodspeed of Buckinghamshire with wife Agnes — contradicting compiled databases' "Alice Harris." The wife-name discrepancy is unresolved and not previously flagged.

VIZ-CHANGES

Only PROBABLE+ findings. No viz changes for POSSIBLE-tier findings (AHN 11296, 11297, 133).

Susannah Morgan family (AHN 207, 414, 415)

ADD_PERSON     | 414 | Rev. James Morgan Sr. — b. ~1729 Baltimore County MD;
                       d. ~1804-1810 NC (county of death unverified; two conflicting FaG death years;
                       last primary-source evidence alive: 18 Jan 1785, Randolph County NC per DAR);
                       DAR Ancestor #A132519; FaG 163484558; confidence PROBABLE;
                       do NOT display as CONFIRMED; use "Rev. James Morgan Sr." — do NOT use
                       "James Isaac Morgan" (the "Isaac" middle name appears only in Susannah's FaG,
                       not in the father's own memorial, and is unverified)

ADD_PERSON     | 415 | Mary 'Molly' Davis Morgan — b. ~1736; d. ~1805;
                       married James Morgan ~1754 (probable Maryland);
                       no standalone FaG memorial; named consistently in at least three children's memorials;
                       confidence PROBABLE

UPDATE_PARENTS | 207 | father -> AHN 414 (PROBABLE); mother -> AHN 415 (PROBABLE);
                       render as dashed/amber confidence edge per existing convention

UPDATE_STORY | 207 | birth county note: "born ~1778 in what was then Rowan County NC; the Morgan
                       family settled this land in 1764 when it was Rowan County; it became Guilford
                       County in 1771 and Randolph County in 1779 — these three county names refer
                       to the same territory and are not contradictions"

Rev. Joseph Hull and ancestors (AHN 11302, 11303, 22604, 22605)

UPDATE_STORY   | 11302 | baptism: "25 Apr 1596, Crewkerne, Somerset, England"
                          [corrected from FAG's 24 Apr — one-day FAG transcription error;
                          two independent WikiTree profiles Hull-1598 and Hull-478,
                          both citing Somerset parish registers, agree on 25 April]

UPDATE_STORY   | 11302 | death: "ca. 19 Nov 1665, Appledore Island (Isles of Shoals),
                          York County, Maine; estate inventoried 5 Dec 1665 at L62 5s 5d"

UPDATE_STORY   | 11302 | add occupation/biography: "Oxford BA 14 Nov 1614 (St Mary's Hall;
                          Alumni Oxoniensis Vol. II p. 765); Rector of Northleigh, Devonshire
                          14 Apr 1621 - 1632; curate at Broadway, Crewkerne Deanery 1633-1634;

                          Plymouth Colony, founded 4 Jun 1639"

UPDATE_STORY   | 11303 | label: "Unknown [first wife of Rev. Joseph Hull]";
                          note: "name not established in any reliable source; died before
                          6 May 1635 emigration; 'Joanna Coffin' attribution explicitly rejected
                          by Hull Family Association — do NOT use this name"

ADD_PERSON     | 22604 | Thomas Hull "the Younger" — b. ~1552 Crewkerne, Somerset, England
                          [E1 basis: married 1572/3; 1572 - 25 = ~1547, consistent with FaG ~1552];
                          bur. 29 Dec 1636 Crewkerne (Somerset parish register, documented);
                          WikiTree Hull-478; confidence PROBABLE;
                          NOTE: epithet "the Younger" established by Hull Family Association research
                          (Hughes); distinguishes him from half-brother Thomas Hull the Elder
                          (WikiTree Hull-533), who shares father Richard Hull but has a different mother

ADD_PERSON     | 22605 | Joanna (Peson) Hull — b. ~1551 Crewkerne, Somerset, England
                          [E1 basis: married 11 Jan 1572/3; 1572 - 21 = ~1551];
                          bur. 1629 Crewkerne (Coddington 1989);
                          daughter of Richard Peson/Pysing and Margery (surname unknown);

                          "Thomas Hull the sonne of Alice Hull widdow married with Johane Peson
                          the daughter of Richard Pesinge and Margery his wife";
                          named as Joseph's mother by Weygant 1913 p.9, Coddington 1989,
                          and Hughes/Hull Family Association research

                               [corrected from 20 Dec; Arnold's "20th" is a secondary
                               transcription error, likely 8 misread as 0]
                               PRIMARY SOURCE verbatim: "William Olney & Katheren Sayles —

WALLS THAT HELD / OUTSTANDING QUARANTINES

AHN Name Status Note
11296 Robert Goodspeed of Wingrave POSSIBLE — no change 1907 genealogy does NOT support the link; new Agnes/Alice wife-name discrepancy flagged
11297 Alice Harris (wife) POSSIBLE — no change Contradicted by TNA Chancery case naming Agnes as Robert's wife
64 parents "John b.1745 & Mary b.1747 Wilson" QUARANTINE held FAG 83085789 verbatim confirms unknown parents
133 Mary (maiden unknown), wife of Alexander Kent POSSIBLE — not added No primary source; maiden name unestablished

OPEN LEADS (next round)

  1. Halifax County VA probate/tax records for Alexander Kent — would upgrade AHN 132 from PROBABLE to CONFIRMED; no online database has these digitized past 1830s
  2. NC Regulator Petition April 1768 — James Morgan Sr. as signer would provide a second independent non-FaG source, potentially upgrading AHN 414 to CONFIRMED
  3. TNA C 5/405/103 full transcript — resolve Agnes vs. Alice discrepancy for Robert Goodspeed; if Agnes is confirmed, all compiled databases citing Alice Harris are wrong
  4. Crewkerne parish register for Thomas Hull the Younger's parents — Richard Hull is named in the marriage register as Alice Hull's husband/father; full register search needed to establish Richard's death/burial and any other children
