Ray builds the coupled cluster: issue-send pipeline that emits Resend webhook → DB → per-issue
open/CTR snapshots for free. This single build resolves the load-bearing sensors gap AND the
load-bearing tools gap simultaneously and produces the email-engagement-instrumentation modular
component MAC drip + Squarely retention will inherit.
Under-formalized. What exists: founder reads replies qualitatively; /design-critic runs
structurally per design variant. What's missing: per-issue post-mortem that asks
(a) which hook/angle landed (open + reply signal), (b) which CTA converted (subscribe +
click signal), (c) what to feed forward into next /research-brief. Today's loop is
heroic-founder-reads-replies, not structured-diagnostic-to-experiment.
Instrumentation gaps in Layer 2 (open rate, CTR, cohort engagement) are upstream blockers —
you can't formalize a feedback loop without the sensors that feed it. The coupled cluster
is open/CTR sensor + templated-send actuator + diagnostic-feeds-next-brief loop.
